  15. Bonus: Added TextMode.rexx to the archive. It's an old script I used for
  16. reading mail via a telnet before WebYAM was born.

  18. WebYAM is a CGI script (written in ARexx) to access YAM folders from a web
  19. browser. To use the script you must install a web server, i.e. Apache. A
  20. static Internet connection would also come in handy, since there's really
  21. no reason to access your YAM folders from a local browser. ;-)

  23. Since I only made the script for my own use, I haven't bothered to write a
  24. lot of documentation. In fact, this readme is all you get. But here's some
  25. hints about how to get started:

  27. - In the top of the script itself, change YAMPath and Cfg.#? to your
  28.   needs.
  29.  
  30. - Do not rename the script.
  31.  
  32. - In your web server, make sure the directory WebYAM is placed in, is
  33.   password-protected. There's no built-in security! Please do not ask
  34.   me how to setup your web server.
  35.  
  36. If you find bugs, feel free to contact me. Also, feature requests will
  37. make no harm, but I currently do not have any major improvement plans
  38. since WebYAM already does what I needed in the first place.

  40. Thanks to Ash Thomas for the NewIcons (he kindly gave me permission to
  41. include them in the archive, after I converted them to GIF).

  43. KNOWN BUGS:
  44.  
  45. - Be careful with the 'Compose' facility. YAM 2.1 has a serious bug in
  46.   one of the used ARexx commands.
  47. - The URL linker is not perfect yet, but should be sufficient for most
  48.   common references.
